English: The Big Advent Art Challenge (Instagram @bigadventartchallenge) is an independent art challenge run by @absowm_art on Instagram taking place from the 1st to the 24th December. The event culminates with the option to purchase / auction artworks with any money going to charity. For more info scroll to the bottom. Here are my efforts from 2025:

The Big Advent Art Challenge is structured like this:

1. One prompt per day throughout Advent

Each day from December 1st to 24th, participants receive a single creative prompt. This year, the prompts are colour-based for example: Peach Fuzz, Sea Green, Scorched Earth. But in previous years prompts have included ideas, objects and themes often relating to Christmas.

2. It is completely open to all art forms

There are no rules, no pressure, no requirement to post every day. It’s about showing up with whatever you have, even for a few minutes.

3. A creativity-boosting ritual for December

Advent Art becomes: a daily practice, a warm-up to creative flow, a way to explore new palettes/ideas, a gentle discipline, a personal archive of experiments that often lead to finished artworks

4. A hashtag challenge

People post their work using: #bigadventartchallenge and tag @bigadventartchallenge This allows everyone to see one another’s responses, building a sense of community and shared momentum during December.

5. Not a contest but a journey for creativity and charity

It’s not competitive. No perfection needed. Just encouragement, exploration, and a bit of December magic. At the end all artwork is ‘auctioned / up for sale’ with all proceeds going to charity. 

This year (2025) the charity is WAR CHILD.
